What is 5G ?

We all Know that with every new generation change in telecom services the speed and network quality has improved.You may have been already familiar with 2G , 3G , 4G this all are the predecessor to 5G.

5G is the fifth generation of wireless communications technologies supporting cellular data networks. 5G communication requires the use of communications devices designed to support the technology. The frequency spectrum of 5G is divided into millimeter waves, mid-band, and low-band. 

So what Changed over Time  with the change in this Generations in terms of speed

First generation - 1G

1980s: 1G delivered analog voice.

Second generation - 2G
Early 1990s: 2G introduced digital voice (e.g. CDMA- Code Division Multiple Access).

Third generation - 3G
Early 2000s: 3G brought mobile data (e.g. CDMA2000).

Fourth generation - 4G LTE
2010s: 4G LTE ushered in the era of mobile broadband.

1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G all led to 5G, which is designed to provide more connectivity than was ever available before.

Why 5G when 4G can do the task ?

As we already mentioned that with the increase in generation we also get better speeds and better network , voice call quality , So 5G is no different it's a massive upgrade to the existing 4G that we are currently acquainted with. 5G helps in introduction to new technologies like IOT (Internet Of Things) , which i guess many of you have heard of , If you would like to know more about IOT devices check out  What is IOT ?

as we all know that 5G is a low Latency Network so it would be helpful in building IOT applications like Automated Cars , Smart Cities , SmartHomes , Smart Devices which all require your device to be connected to the internet and provide the user with realtime data .

For Example:

Your Refrigerator can be turned into a IOT smart device by adding required Sensors and after which you can monitor data like temprature your Refrigerator contents like milk fruits and as soon as milk is finished you are notified directly to your phone after which you can update a order to add milk to the cart via Amazon Pantry , this is what a simple application can look like when it comes to IOT via 5G

What's the Future of 5G in India ?

So we all now the the upcoming years are going to be taken by 5G technology , but seeing the present senario due to covid-19 we may expect delay in the 5G launch in India but we can see various big telecos working on to get the top of 5G race we can count on companies like Bharti Airtel , Vodafone Idea , Reliance Jio to bring the 5G technology to our devices. we can expect 5G in 2021 well it may be delayed by covid-19 , so what do you think who will be the first 5G launch jio or 5G launch Airtel

What are the 5G devices availaible in India ? /  5G phones in India ?

As the 5G race is on many big brands like Samsung , Realme , Redmi , Oppo , Vivo are working hard to get the next big competition of the latest network technology to there devices. Presently 5G enabled devices are priced somewhere above ₹35,000  which is the lowest price . Some devices which you can look at like Realme X50 at ₹37,999 and iQoo 3 at ₹36,999  this are two great devices availaible at the best price and is enquiped with every feature one need's for there day to day task's.

Does 5G Devices Matter ?

Absolutely not. India doesn’t have 5G networks and won’t have them at least before the next year. Union telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad had said in September that the government planned to begin 5G spectrum auctions by the end of this year or early next year. Even if we assume that telecom service providers are ready to buy spectrum and then spend a few more months on final tests, it’s unlikely that 5G networks will be live in India before mid-2021. So, the fact that a phone supports 5G networks shouldn’t factor into your buying decision right now, especially if you have to pay a premium for it.
